Bangkok, Thailand (August 12, 2007): This week marks a milestone in golf history, with the opening of Asia’s most advanced golf training and fitting center, right in the heart of Bangkok. The Wilding Golf Performance Center brings to Thailand a world-class training environment designed to develop golfing skills and improve performances.“This one-of-a-kind facility will dominate Thailand’s golf training arena,” said founder Shane Wilding, who brings to Thailand over 15 years of top-level teaching and coaching experience from the US, Australia and Asia. “Thailand is already world-renown as a first-rate golfing destination. The Wilding Golf Performance Center can only enhance this by showing the world that the Kingdom is also a first-rate golf training destination.”
The Wilding Golf Performance Center features the most technologically advanced Swing Bays in Asia. Combining Golf Simulators, Launch Monitors, Digital Videos and Body Motion Analysis, the center’s instructors are able to capture data on all aspects of a client’s swing and provide solutions for immediate improvement.
The Golf Simulators also offer golfers the opportunity to play some of the world’s top golf courses. There are over 30 courses to choose from, each meticulously reproduced with high-definition graphics and sound.
The Center’s Putting Studios are the only ones in Asia that offer computer analyzed putting solutions. Both studios incorporate a V1 Visual Putting System that enables the client to record the motion of the putter head as it meets the ball and learn how to adjust their technique for greater accuracy. Data from the V1 Visual Putting System also enables the instructors to recommend ideal specs for a client’s putter. An on-site putter bending machine can then produce customized putters.
The Center’s Equipment Performance Lab uses Kudu, the world’s leading radar tracking system to recommend equipment that is best suited, fitted and optimized to each client’s body type and swing style. Clients are also able to compare performance of their existing equipment against clubs from a variety of leading brands. The data provided can be used to either recommend adjustments to the client’s current club set or provide specifications for new sets to achieve optimum performance.
Overlooking the Swing Bays is a uniquely styled Café that offers a selection of cold drinks, beer, wine, coffee and tea along with a variety of snacks. The Performance Center Lounge provides a more private atmosphere with comfortable seating for up to 20 people. Golfers will be able to watch the latest golf coverage and enjoy unlimited wi-fi access while chatting with the Center’s team of multilingual instructors from around the world.
“Golf has developed at an incredible pace across Asia, however, the technology and training available in the region is still very traditional,” said Wilding. “At the Wilding Performance Center, we provide golfers of all levels with access to the same technology and training methods used by the game’s top players.”
“This dedication to high-performance training standards complimented by the relaxed atmosphere traditionally found in Thailand has materialized into a golf training system and performance center on par with the best available anywhere in the world.”
