The opening reception is Saturday, September 8th, 6pm - 9pm. A special program to meet the artists will be held on Sunday, September 16th at 2:00pm. You are invited to join them to discuss their work and the influences that inspire their unique styles and creativity. Refreshments will be served.Kazimierczyk and Sanzalone both find their inspiration in the everyday life and vistas of the Greater Delaware Valley. However, what makes their work unique is their keen ability to capture the unexpected in scenes considered ordinary on a day-to-day basis. "I'll never get over the thrill of how a view that you never really notice, can one day make you stop dead in your tracks". said Kazimierczyk. "Sometimes it's a matter of how the sun lights up a scene, or maybe it's the time of year, or sometimes it's just a change in the way that you're thinking." Kazimierczyk’s plein air paintings sometimes become inspiration for larger studio pieces. His tranquil landscapes have received much attention in recent years and have garnered awards from Phillips Mill, Trenton City Museum, Friends of the Delaware Canal, Mercer County Cultural & Heritage Commission and others.
Sanzalone is endlessly inspired by light and it's effect on color. "I love the graphic qualities of light and shadow. An ordinary subject brought to life by the richness of reflected or natural color is fascinating." Working in watercolor and acrylic with the abstract elements of shape, texture and transparent washes of color, her paintings capture subjects as they naturally occur during different times of day and in a variety of locations. She has been invited to show her work in many solo and group exhibits throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania as well as being included in collections at the Hunterdon County Court House and George Nakashima Woodworkers in New Hope, Pa.
