Cumberland Heights Friends plan Toast and Roast of Senator Douglas Henry

August 9, 2007——-Nashville, Tn.——Cumberland Heights Friends announced today that they are getting ready for a Toast & Roast of Senator Douglas Henry on August 27, 2007 at the Hilton Nashville to benefit Cumberland Heights Alcohol and Drug Treatment Center.Leading up to the August 27th event at the Hilton, a Ladies and Gentlemen’s Committee Party is planned for August 14, 2007 at Stoney River Steak House. Committee chairs are Nants Reynolds and Bob Tuke. “Stoney River on West End is hosting this pre-event and your $100 donation as a Lady or Gentlemen, goes entirely to the Cumberland Heights Alcohol and Drug Treatment Center,” said Nancy Russell, Chair of Toast & Roast Events.
The Toast and Roast of Senator Douglas Henry will a jovial evening with roast master Tommy Burnett and roasters Mayor Purcell, John Seigenthaler, Senator Roy Herron, Nick Bailey, Bob Tuke, Raymond Thomasson, Steve Cobb, Maclin Davis, Charles Howell, John Jay Hooker and Bob and Douglas Henry.
Cocktails, dinner and a silent auction will complete the festivities. “The silent auction for our event includes a signed Guitar from Amy Grant and Vince Gill, Designer T-Shirts from Manuel, classes from Jo-Susan Models & Talent, a luxury room for two with dinner at the fabulous Horseshoe Casino, and for the celebrity girl in your life, an apron from Haute Hostess Aprons by Elizabeth Scokin” said Lynda Evjen, Auction Chair. “These designer confections were in the Oscar goodie bags this past year and jet setters are buying them as Christmas gifts—speaking of Christmas, make your Christmas cards special by bidding on the Calligraphy class from Louise Thompson, a local member of the Nashville Calligraphy society. There is truly something here for everyone.”
Senator Douglas Henry, a true Tennessee statesman, is a man of conviction and principles; a military veteran who served his country in a time of war and a life member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Senator Henry has received virtually every award that a legislator can receive during his illustrious career in the senate. As a long time member of the Tennessee Senate, he is known for his commitment to family and children's issues and is a fiscal expert.
