Culinary Students Get an Early Start
August 05, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Education News
New York City (August 5, 2007) - The Art Institute of New York City is offering the opportunity for Culinary Arts and Culinary Arts & Restaurant Management students to get a jump start on their education by beginning classes on August 16 (mid-quarter session) instead of in October. The classes will be completed in five weeks; students will then seamlessly join the fall class and continue their studies.
Here are some benefits of beginning classes in August:
• Students can get comfortable in the college environment
• Registration for the mid-quarter start may proceed more quickly
• Classes typically will be smaller, giving students the opportunity to get to know their classmates and teachers
• School-sponsored housing may be more readily available
• Starting in August allows students to take a reduced course load, easing the transition back to the classroom
• August is the traditional start time for higher education, so students can begin school at the same time as their friends
• Taking classes in the mid-quarter session allows students to take fewer classes later when the workload may be greater
