Cheril N. Clarke Brings Intimate Chaos to the Main Stage

Bordentown, NJ, August 4, 2007 – Intimate Chaos, adapted from the novel written by Cheril N. Clarke will premier at the Academy Theatre on November 9, 2007 and will run for six shows through November 18. Internationally renowned director, Stephen M. Stahl joins forces with Clarke to bring this much talked about novel to the stage.

Intimate Chaos has received rave reviews from numerous publications, and has captivated readers by its story of love, desire, abandonment and betrayal. According to Malinda Lo of Curve Magazine, "Intimate Chaos brings us dyke drama in all its glory as it chronicles Sadira and Jessie's roller-coaster relationship.” Intimate Chaos is the first stage play produced under Clarke’s newly formed production company, Clarke Productions LLC. “I want to bring the characters of Intimate Chaos to life,” says Clarke. “It is important to have a company that showcases a group of people who are often left out of leading roles on television and in theatre.” The mission of Clarke Productions LLC is to provide a source of quality theatrical entertainment.

The director, Stephen Maxamillion Stahl, is an award-winning film and theatre director, producer, writer and teacher with 30 years of experience. Mr. Stahl received his early training at The Hedgerow Theatre under Jasper Deeter and Rose Schulman, then moved to New York and studied with Lee Strasberg at the Actors Studio. His credits include over 150 stage shows including Lady Day, which starred several Tony Award winning actresses. The West End production of Lady Day in London was nominated for an Olivier Award. He has also worked with many well-known talents to include Bill Cosby and Patti LaBelle. When asked about bringing Intimate Chaos to life, Stahl exclaims, “I’m very excited to be working on this project! Intimate Chaos is a very strong piece of theater.”

Cheril N. Clarke is the author of four novels, including the novel of the same name, Intimate Chaos and its much sought after sequel, Tainted Destiny. Clarke was most notably the keynote speaker at the African Asian Latina Lesbian United Conference and is currently doing research for her next novel, Emergency Exit, a political drama.
