South African Band Featured in Coalition Against Child Poverty

South Africa's Jam On Tuesday is one of sixteen international artists with a music video featured on the new Worldview website www.worldview.ca

The SAMA nominated band is currently rocking South Africa with a powerful repertoire of contemporary original songs. Melodic verses contrast strongly with energetic choruses to give this four-piece band its dynamic and unique rock sound. The haunting female vocal melodies backed by grungy guitars and male vocal harmonies sees Jam On Tuesday defining a new edge of SA rock. The band comprises: Gill Persson - lead vocals and rhythm guitar. Lorens Persson - drums. Guillaume Mouton - bass guitar and backing vocals. Kurt Slabbert - lead and rhythm guitar and backing vocals.

In addition to allowing the use of their music video for “Coming Back”, lead singer Gill Persson shares her thoughts about child poverty on the site. Her plea for compassion for some of the world's poorest children ends with the question “Why don't you consider sponsoring one of these precious gifts?”

Worldview connects to Christian Children's Fund, Compassion, Plan, World Vision, and other international child poverty organizations including Unicef and Make Poverty History. Visitors to the site can also take an animated virtual tour to learn how child sponsorship works, or play the United Nations World Food Program's educational video game Food Force. (The World Food Program uses Worldview's virtual tour as a teacher's resource for the game.)
