Gardere Partner Phillips Receives Ebby Rose Of Distinction Award

DALLAS – Fran Phillips, a partner in the Environmental Practice Group at Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP, has been selected as a recipient of the Ebby Rose of Distinction Award.The Ebby Rose of Distinction Award is presented to individuals who have exhibited, by their deeds and actions, that they are an outstanding citizen who has improved the lives of others in the community. The award was initiated in 2005 in celebration of the 60th anniversary of Ebby Halliday, REALTORS and is named for the internationally registered yellow Ebby rose.
Ms. Phillips currently serves as the president of the board of directors for Keep Dallas Beautiful, a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to engaging individuals to take responsibility for improving their local community environment. Her role with Keep Dallas Beautiful was key to her receiving the Ebby Rose of Distinction.
“Community volunteerism is something I believe you have to be passionate about,” says Ms. Phillips. “Environmental protection is not only my career vocation but also my avocation. With goals of promoting reuse and recycling, along with urban beautification, the work Keep Dallas Beautiful does is something that touches me personally and deeply.”
The honor is well deserved, says Steve Good, managing partner for Gardere.
“Fran is a tireless advocate for everyone doing their part to help their community,” Mr. Good says. “Her passion for protecting the environment is evident not only in her law practice, but in her everyday life as well.”
As a recipient of the Ebby Rose of Distinction, Ms. Phillips will receive a commemorative crystal award and a gift of $500, which she plans to donate to Keep Dallas Beautiful. Additionally, a special vignette about her work will air on KTVT-CBS 11 from July 27 through July 31. She will also be honored with other award recipients during a special dinner in September.
