1st Annual Shakedown Festival Announces Completed Official Lineup
Two day festival to feature Mickey Hart’s “Hydra”, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Medeski, Martin & Wood, Galactic, Jerry Joseph, Robert Walters and over a dozen others…

Portland, OR- Stylus Shows Inc. and Horning’s Hideout, the Pacific NW’s premiere concert campground are proud to present the 1st Annual Shakedown Campout and Music Festival August 26-27, 2005 at Horning’s Hideout in North Plains, Oregon. This 2-day, end-of-summer weekend festival wraps up the 2005 festival season by featuring over 23 hours of performances by well known, national acts such as former Grateful Dead percussionist Mickey Hart’s Band “Hydra”; The world renowned Michael Franti and Spearhead; Jazz impresarios Medeski, Martin, & Wood; as well as over a dozen other leaders in the jam band music scene.
This year’s inaugural event features one main stage so every one of the 5,000 festival attendees can see every act, while providing excellent local festival food and regional micro-brews. Event Organizer, Hal Abramson said, “The festival is only two days because most people don’t have 3 days off in a row, and for a lot of people 3 days is just too much. We do invite folks to sleep over Sunday morning; leaving early enough Sunday to get home in time to rest before work on Monday.” He continued, “In a summer of high cost gas, many festival goers are looking for more regional festivals. The cost of a 20-hour road trip has to be directly figured in with ticket cost, food, beer, etc. With Horning’s just 17 miles west of Portland, fest campers will be able to save big dollars for a national show in a regional venue.”

A limited number of first level tickets, (which include camping) are priced at a reasonable $79. Additionally, less than 500 Saturday only [one-day/one night] tickets are available for just $59. Tickets are now on sale four ways: online; over the phone; by mail order at Baseline Tickets; and at 75 TicketsWest outlets in Washington and Oregon.
For the first time on any festival promotion, the first 500 ticket orders made on-line or by phone have already received Florida/Bahamas Getaways and Cruises for two. The promotion was so successful, another 500 vacations are now being offered to the next 500 orders (1 or more tickets per order). This is not a contest but a straight giveaway (the promoter is associated with the travel industry in Florida and is able to make this remarkable offer through his industry connections).
The festival campgrounds open at 9 a.m. on Friday August 26th; RV’s are welcome and accompanied kids under 12 get in free.
