Vista Media Center add-in helps keep users media content private

Ltd. launches Squirrel Stash, a Vista Media Center add-in incorporating encryption technology and hi-fidelity interface design to protect private media content in the home or work environment. Joining a new breed of Vista Media Center add-in applications, Squirrel Stash utilises the latest development technology from Microsoft Corporation to deliver a seamless user environment for privately storing and viewing media files.

Under the covers, a virtual encrypted hard-drive, called a stash, is used to hold videos, pictures and audio clips that can only be accessed using a password. Squirrel Stash utilises installed codecs to play back all types of media files and incorporates familiar file management capabilities. The ability to backup and restore a stash is also included which gives users peace of mind when storing important media files.

Squirrel Stash has been launched with two editions: Squirrel Stash Free Edition, a fully functional version limited only by the size of the stash that can be created and Squirrel Stash Unlimited, available for around US $30, which allows a user to create a stash size limited only by available disk space.
