A new site, webcomparison.co.uk, has launched to help people get the best from the ever-increasing number of price comparison services now available online. Speaking at the launch two of the sites founders talk about how they hope the information they provide will help people find the best offers and avoid poor quality services.New website webcomparison.co.uk has gone online with the aim of helping people understand price comparison websites and how to get the best out of such services when searching online.
Speaking on the launch of the site Marcus Henry, one of the sites founding members, said; “Over the last five years or so the success enjoyed by price comparison websites in the UK has been nothing short of phenomenal but our major concern is as these sites become large corporate businesses the quality of service offered to customers could be jeopardised by the need to meet profit targets”.
One of Marcus’ business partners and long-term friend Dan Brashears continued; “When these sites first started out it was to champion the consumer and force businesses to compete for customers by offering better deals, the transparency they brought the market was, and still is, an incredible achievement”.
Marcus and Dan decided to set up webcomparison.co.uk after becoming concerned that the results offered by the ever-increasing number of comparison sites were becoming too varied and unreliable.
Dan continued; “Many comparison sites have popped up in the last few years trying to get a share of the revenue streams enjoyed by the more established sites such as moneysupermarket and uSwitch. But it’s quite obvious to us that the majority of these sites are motivated purely by profit rather than trying to help people save money.
The webcomparison.co.uk team have vowed to do there bit in helping people learn more about a wide range of products before comparing online and pointing out the comparison services they believe will genuinely benefit people.
Marcus concluded the launch by saying; “We’re only a small site right now but we just want to help people like ourselves, we’ve started examining financial comparison sites as that’s were many people are open to costly mistakes and poor services. From there we are looking to expand into areas such as insurance and travel and possibly home products like utilities and broadband. We just want to help people find quality services”.
