AUSTIN, Texas — Rabbit Healthcare Systems of Austin, Texas, has been selected to participate in the American Society of Clinical Oncology's Electronic Health Records (EHR): 2007 Oncology Symposium: Providing You with Tools to Make an EHR Decision for Your Practice, being held Sept. 19-20, 2007, in Dallas, Texas.

Rabbit Healthcare Systems has been working with ASCO for the past six months to adopt the association's recommendations on functional elements for developing an oncology treatment care plan and summary. Functional and clinical elements developed for ASCO's treatment plan and treatment summary are available at www.asco.org/ehr (select EHR Events, then EHR Roundtable). Rabbit Healthcare Systems is pleased to be one of only seven of the original 23 vendors that have been invited to participate in the symposium.

"Rabbit Healthcare Systems is honored to have been selected for this prestigious symposium. The invitation from ASCO validates our company's EHR technology for oncology practices," says Brad Vassberg, president of Rabbit Healthcare Systems.

The EHR Symposium will offer a setting for oncologists, administrators, nurses and other members of the oncology care team to evaluate EHR software that may be a good fit for their environment. Vendors participating in the symposium will conduct oncology-specific product demonstrations based on scenarios provided by ASCO; on the second day, vendors will participate in a head-to-head "face-off" event. Educational opportunities at the symposium will include sessions on EHR implementation, improving practice efficiency with EHRs and the EHR return on investment.

More information about ASCO's 2007 EHR Symposium is available at www.asco.org/ehr (select "EHR Events").
