Moore Black Press author Danny Simmons will join authors from around the globe at the 9th Annual Harlem Book Fair Saturday, July 21, on West 135th Street between 5th and 7th Avenues. African Voices Magazine will host the book signing for Danny Simmons from 1-2pm at the African Voices booth. I Dreamed My People Were Calling But I Couldn’t Find My Way Home, released earlier this year, has received great reviews. The visually stunning, 64-page collection features poetry and visual art from the versatile Simmons, co-founder of HBO’s Russell Simmons Presents: Def Poetry Jam.
Simmons, author, visual artist and philanthropist, is the recipient of Moore Black Press’ first Legacy Award for people preserving and cultivating progressive art and culture.
Moore Black Press Publisher, Jessica Care Moore Poole insists, “ It’s important that people support this book and effort from Danny. He trusted an independent press with his work, and that is the only way we build institutions. We’re happy to report that in addition to several Barnes & Noble bookstores, Phat Farm stores recently picked up the title. We really encourage New Yorkers to support the effort at 129 Prince St., and add Danny’s gorgeous new collection to go with their new summer gear.”
The Harlem Book Fair begins at 11am and is free and open to the public.
