Encinitas, CA July 21, 2007 — FreedomVOICE Systems, a leading provider of integrated virtual office tools and toll free number services, announces upgrades to its environmentally secure co-location facility designed to provide uninterrupted phone system and Internet service regardless of fire, earthquake or other disaster.

“As a telephone services company, reliability is job one,” said Eric Thomas, FreedomVOICE Systems’ founder and CEO. “We have recently upgraded our CoLo facility with new equipment and a dramatically expanded storage capacity that together, will allow us to continue providing virtual office services to our customers during what would normally be an interruption.”

The 12,000 square-foot facility, located in San Diego some 30 minutes from FreedomVOICE headquarters, is a complex array of security, power protection and redundant component systems.

Mission critical equipment, such as Internet servers and network computers, can be powered even if the city power fails through the facility’s gigawatt backup generator. Each equipment cabinet is fitted with 2 power paths and connected to massive battery arrays to prevent damage caused by sudden power loss.

Additionally, CoLo is equipped with state-of-the-art FM200 fire suppression protocol that ensures any fire is snuffed at the point of origin.

To maintain an optimum environment, regulated temperature and humidity levels are checked manually by staffers every hour. If any anomalies are detected, air conditioning is immediately adjusted, said FreedomVOICE officials.

“This is a very, very secure site,” said Thomas. “The roof is framed with steel and covered with a steel plate and several feet of concrete. It would take aircraft larger than those allowed at the nearby airport to penetrate it.”

The facility also features advanced security with biometric checkpoints and more than two dozen visible security cameras. According to facility staff, there are additional cameras hidden in strategic locations throughout. The plant is staffed 24/7 and patrolled hourly.

FreedomVOICE has added additional networking equipment and disk storage as the company continues growing.

“We now have 12 terabytes of storage capacity and can expand well into the petabyte range,” said Thomas. “By way of reference, as of 2006 Google was using 2 petabytes of space.”
