Oakland California based non-profit organization, Deaf Hope, will be presented with a brand new Chevy Express Van along with a year’s worth of insurance from Ameriprise Auto & Home, gasoline, and four years of cost-free maintenance, and the resources to purchase much needed office and program supplies courtesy of an International women’s business group based in Dallas, TX. “When the leaders of our chapters learned of Deaf Hope’s tremendous work they rallied to send a clear message of compassion and financial support to help the organization continue its vital work on behalf of deaf survivors,” says Taya Levine, Chief “Make It Happen” Officer of the eWomenNetwork Foundation. A brief press conference and the presentation of the new van will take place this Thursday, July 19th at 4:00 pm at Oakland’s Preservation Park. The address is 1233 Preservation Park Way Oakland, CA 94612
“Deaf Hope is doing extraordinary work for a population that is unseen and underserved. Our network of businesswomen from across North America is committed to giving back, or as we say “Lift as we Climb” and it is their generosity along with caring organizations like Ameriprise Auto & Home Insurance, GM and Office Depot that is making this possible. The eWomenNetwork Foundation dedicates its resources to small, local non-profits who, without help, could have to close their doors, and we are honored to play a small part in the future success of Deaf Hope and the new lives they make possible for many women who would otherwise be without hope.” says Sandra Yancey, Founder and CEO of eWomenNetwork.
"I am overwhelmed by the generosity and outpouring of support shown by these remarkable women as a result of receiving this award. It's amazing that women who are not even from our community are contacting me from across North America to offer their support for our Mission," says Julie Rems-Smario, Executive Director of Deaf Hope, who was recently presented with the 2007 Humanitarian of the Year Award. The award was presented by eWomenNetwork Foundation in Dallas Texas in front of over 2,000 business women during the eWomenNetwork Foundation’s annual International Femtor Awards Gala.
