Amie Riggs is named Chair of Downtown Special Business District Advisory Commission Riggs is Vice President of Kirkwood-based Riggs Construction & Design

July 16, 2007: KIRKWOOD, Mo. – Amie Riggs, Vice President and Sales & Marketing Manager of Riggs Construction & Design, was recently named Chair of Kirkwood’s Downtown Special Business District Advisory Commission.

The commission works to promote and improve the business climate in downtown Kirkwood. Riggs will oversee the efforts of Kirkwood’s Downtown Special Business District Advisory Commission, which is responsible for running the Farmer’s Market, promoting local businesses and improving public areas through landscaping.

“Living and working in Kirkwood inspires me and my family to serve the community and other local businesses,” Riggs said. “It is rewarding to be able to help promote Kirkwood businesses as well as restore and remodel homes in this great community.”

Last year, Riggs served as Vice Chair, and will now serve as Chair in a one-year term, organizing and running monthly meetings.

The commission was the first of its kind in the state and has been serving downtown Kirkwood for more than 30 years. Members meet the third Wednesday of the month at 7:30 a.m. at City Hall.
