Goodman & Company, LLP Promotes Melinda Davis and Iris Dodson to Partner

Norfolk, Virginia - Goodman & Company, LLP is pleased to announce that Melinda L.C. Davis, CPA and Iris R. Dodson, CPA, QKA have been promoted to partner, effective July 1, 2007.

Davis provides accounting and tax services for a variety of small, medium and large businesses including government contractors, construction contractors, engineers, manufacturers, and medical professionals. She has experience with work-in-process schedules, Federal Acquisition Regulations, calculations of allowable overhead rates, determination of unallowable costs, cost of money calculations and other regulatory requirements faced by government contractors. Davis has extensive corporate tax experience including research and audit support as well as serving as the firm resource for multi-state tax preparation. She is also familiar with a variety of tax credit programs including the Virginia Enterprise Zone program. Davis is a member of the American Institute and Virginia Society of CPA’s. Davis is active in the community by serving on a number of committees with the Southeastern Virginia Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners and prior leadership positions in BNI and PTA chapters.

Dodson has fifteen years of extensive experience in the retirement field in all facets of plan design, adoption and terminations across a broad range of industries. She is a firm-wide resource whose specialties include consulting and administration services for plan sponsors regarding 401(k), profit sharing, pension, SIMPLE retirement plans and IRAs. Her plan administration expertise ranges from solo to large plans with several thousand participants using a variety of investment alternatives. A member of the American Institute, Virginia Society, and the Tidewater Chapter of the Virginia Society of CPA’s, Dodson remains active in her community. She is also on the Finance Committee for the Lafayette Shores Homeowners Association, a member of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries, and former President of the Old Dominion University chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, an accounting fraternity.
