Hike for Discovery is Going Strong

The newest fundraising activity for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) is Hike for Discovery. People volunteer to raise money for LLS and in turn are trained to hike for a long distance nature hike.

One participant, Carol Bowman, who is an internet marketing professional, is very excited about the Grand Canyon hike she will be doing in October. "I have never been to the Grand Canyon and I'm looking forward to hiking down into it and enjoying the scenery". Carol understands what families of people with blood cancers go through after watching her husband of 25 years battle leukemia for 18 months before it took his life in May of 2000. "I will be carrying the names of our honorees with me when I hike. I want to raise as much as I can to help find a cure for blood cancers".
