NORWICH, CT, JULY 2007: Artists Against Censorship (http://www.artistsagainstcensorship.com) is a new organization dedicated to fighting the growing trend of artistic censorship in today's world. AAC is committed to defending an artist's right to freedom of speech. In today’s world, censorship is an important issue and has become an ever-growing concern among the various artistic communities. Artists Against Censorship is still in its infancy, and for now exists as only a web presence. We are continuously working toward increasing our membership in an effort to build support for protecting artistic freedom here in the US, and eventually, throughout the world. AAC’s long-term goal includes, but is not limited to, becoming an internationally recognized non-profit organization dedicated to protecting artistic freedom of speech worldwide.
The website highlights current events and news and has links to resources for dealing with censorship. It also boasts a forum where members can gather to discuss the latest news posted, ask for help or offer assistance to those who need it, and a gallery for artists to post their artwork without fear of censorship. Another feature soon to be offered will be the ability for recording artists to stream their music.
Please visit the website at http://www.artistsagainstcensorship.com and add your voice to those opposing censorship and the suppression of freedom of expression.
