July 11, 2007 (Berkeley, CA) – With its transforming fighter jets, rich palette of characters, and pop-idol heroine, Robotech has introduced generations of fans to anime since premiering on American TV in 1985. In 2006, a new film, Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles, picked up directly from the pioneering "space opera,” combining the talents of artists and producers from around the globe. Now, one stellar, glossy volume, THE ART OF ROBOTECH: THE SHADOW CHRONICLES (Stone Bridge Press, July 2007) presents the most fantastic art - both classic designs from Robotech's Japanese heritage and modern digital production techniques from the Shadow Chronicles - that went into putting Robotechnology and Protoculture back on the screen.THE ART OF ROBOTECH is like the ultimate Robotech museum, something fans have dreamt of but never thought they’d find! It includes series history and analysis, plot, character and mecha guides, and over 100 pages of concept art and production design, all assembled by production insiders.
