Rocket Man at Rockingham

It's the ultimate 'boy's toy'. Famous for over forty years (ever since James Bond stunned us with his escape from the villain in Thunderball), it's amazing to think that the personal jet pack has hardly been seen in the UK since the 1960s. Now car enthusiasts' eyes are set to turn skywards on Sunday July 15th at the Adrian Flux French Car Show 2007, as the legendary one-man 'jet pack' makes its first appearance this century at a major English event.

The Adrian Flux French Car Show has negotiated an appearance with Jet Pack International, in conjunction with Go Fast Sports, for demonstration flights at the show at Rockingham, and the news has drawn in the national TV networks, who are all expecting to cover the flights, says Show organiser Mark Dow.

"We're really chuffed that we've 'landed' Jet Pack International - it's a huge draw everywhere it goes in the world", he says. "But it's normally also hugely expensive to lay on and that's why it's not been seen in England. We just learned that it was coming to Holland for a show there, and because they were passing through and the dates were right, I was able to persuade them to stop off at Rockingham for the day. This is a one-off, not to be missed!"

The Adrian Flux French Car Show spotlights the UK’s best French cars, including performance and modified motors, attracting thousands of people and over 50 clubs. Last year there were over 2,500 cars on display, alongside trade stalls and entertainment.

Alongside the 'Rockingham rocket man', the show has also arranged several other exclusives, including the 8-competitor virtual Racing Challenge simulator, as show visitors compete in the 'French Grand Prix'. Also on exclusive show will be other attractions, such as a live action arena with display teams including monster trucks and extreme motor cross stunt bikes.
