(formerly the Savannah Runaway Shelter). As president, his primary role is to oversee the operations of Park Place. “It was an honor to be elected as president again,” Egan says.
“Park Place is such an important organization, so the fact that the board wants me as their leader is a huge compliment.”
This is Egan’s third term as president. During this time, Park Place has made several significant strides, most recently, the construction of the new Park Place building. It’s a project that will help the organization to better serve the Savannah community.
“With more space for the runaways and the staff, everything will run more smoothly, and day to day tasks will me much easier to complete,” Egan says.
In addition to Egan’s re-election, there are 8 new members to the 12 person Board of Directors. They include Queen Bing, who spent 20 years working at the shelter, Savannah native LeMuel Campbell, Memorial Health employee Vernell Small, Maggie Kivlen, a former model, Jim Overtun the developer of the new building, Stephen Price of Bank of America, Nancy Sheets, who was a previous president of the board, and Tom Mahoney, a retired Savannah lawyer.
