Pepperio, the highly praised web content management system from MediaSurface, has just got better with Version 4.5 released on the 3rd July 2007 offering a host of exciting new features.

Keeping users up-to-date with Web 2.0, Pepperio 4.5 has a new ‘Social Web’ feature. Companies who utilise this feature can allow visitors to interact with their website, share ideas and as well as providing them with invaluable feedback through the use of polls and forms that can be incorporated into the site.

Pepperio v.4.5 allows the creation of Multiple URLs to the same page. This is perfect for campaign marketing, even short-run campaigns, allowing them to be easily picked up by search engines without the need to break navigation routes or involve a techie in creating redirects into the web server. After all, Pepperio has been designed to free companies from their reliance on web agencies to complete all their web updates for them.
Michael Cheung, Creative Director of Michael Associate Ltd, a Pepperio partner, says, “This is a great new feature, many SME’s are disappointed at the effectiveness of their short term campaigns online, as they fail to be picked up by search engine crawlers. Pepperio have listened to their customers and effectively solved this problem for them. For us, this enables our clients to effectively and swiftly update their campaigns on the fly without having to recreate pages from scratch saving valuable time and effort.”

Pepperio version 4.5 has also added the ability for users to create their own metadata tags and add their own values to them, further improving the ability of a Pepperio based site to be found by search engines.

Having gone to the effort of updating their website many companies then sit back and wait for their regular visitors to ‘find’ the new content. Pepperio v4.5 allows users to create notification emails to individuals or user groups making it easy to let registered visitors know there is new content on the site. “Being able to notify editors and publishers of new site updates is not only important for the business but also that crucial next step in allowing automatic messaging to the rest of the web editing team. Communication is key to a successful business and this can be easily achieved using this great new feature” says Michael Cheung.

Pepperio is a hosted web management system aimed at providing corporate quality sites to small and medium sized enterprises, at an affordable price. The system allows design partners to develop internet, intranet and extranet sites which are then hosted by Mediasurface for a monthly fee. The system allows the SME to create and manage content on their own site, whilst retaining the support system of Mediasurface should they ever require help and assistance. Pepperio is sold exclusively through a network of design and implementation partners.

Michael Associates Ltd is a new media company and Pepperio partner based in the East Midlands. They have undergone the Pepperio developer training and June saw the launch of their Pepperio based site for software manufacturers FactoryMaster.
