HARRISBURG, PA. — JPL announces its success in helping the Chesapeake Bay Foundation educate and inform Pennsylvanians about the “Growing Greener” legislation that voters recently passed on the spring primary ballot.

The Chesapeake Bay Foundation partnered with JPL Productions to create an e-marketing campaign that would provide voters with information on the “Growing Greener” bond. The campaign featured search engine advertising, e-mails, on-line linking programs and an interactive game that informed voters about the bond and motivated them to visit the polls and vote “YES” for the legislation.

“JPL’s e-marketing strategy played a large part in providing the public with information on the legislation and encouraging Pennsylvanians to vote in favor of the legislation,” said Melinda Downey, PA Communications Coordinator for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.

This campaign helped the Chesapeake Bay Foundation reach more than 8,800 potential voters with information that ultimately helped bring voters to the polls and pass the “Growing Greener” legislation.

“We’re thrilled to have helped the Chesapeake Bay Foundation get their message out,” said Joe Tertel, e-marketing specialist at JPL Productions. “The success of this campaign really showed how e-marketing can help accomplish an organization’s goals.”

The “Growing Greener” Bond authorizes the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to borrow up to $625,000,000 to clean up Pennsylvania rivers and streams, protect open space, clean up land and water polluted by mining, preserve working farms, and to fund other critical environmental initiatives in the Commonwealth.

The Chesapeake Bay Foundation (CBF) is the largest conservation organization dedicated solely to saving the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. Their slogan, Save the Bay, defines the organization's mission and commitment to reducing pollution, improving fisheries, and protecting and restoring natural resources such as wetlands, forests, and underwater grasses. CBF headquarters is in Annapolis, MD, and has state offices in Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania. CBF also operates 15 environmental education programs.
