World Renown Keyboardist Dr. Scott Tibbs to Join Greg Parman

World-renowned keyboardist and arranger, Dr. Scott Tibbs, joins Greg Parman and his All-Star Band for one night only at the OC Pavillion (www.ocpavilion.com), located in the heart of the Santa Ana Arts District. This night represents the first collaboration between these two musicians. The show will be held July 21st, 2007, with the performance beginning at 8:00 PM.

Scott Tibbs holds a PhD in Music Composition from UCLA. He has performed with well-known artists such as Dizzy Gilespie, Bobby Shew, Chuck Findley, Eddie “Lockjaw” Davis, Gary Pucket, Wayne Newton, Bob Hope, and Bill Cosby, to name a few. He has also worked with R&B and HipHop artists Beyonce Knowles (Destiny’s Child) and Missy Elliot. Scott’s film composition credits include projects for Fox, Disney, Warner Brothers and PBS. His music and playing can be heard on several recordings for Warner/Chapell, Polygram, Curb, and many jazz labels. He has conducted the London Symphony Orchestra and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Scott currently tours with the legendary drummer Omar Hakim (Weather Report and Sting).

Greg Parman leads the All-Star bands with his saxophones and flute. With over 20 years of professional experience on the saxophone, he has worked with One Nation (Latin), Mark Massey (pianist), Ron Kobayashi (pianist), Luis Villegas (Latin guitarist), Little Bill and the Blue Notes and Merrilee Rush (“Angel of the Morning”). Greg was featured on the One Nation album “Las Ventanas” that was honored with the 2004 Orange County Music Award for Best Latin - Contemporary. And, his work on the Chris Williams album “Premodernism” was recognized at the 2007 Orange County Music Awards for Best Latin. He has also performed at the Brea Jazz Festival and the Riviera Village Jazz Festival.

Greg has been referred to as one of Orange County’s best kept secrets. His “voice” on Alto, Tenor, and Soprano Saxophones is well-suited for a variety of music including Jazz, Smooth Jazz, Latin, R & B, and Blues.

Andrew Carney – Trumpet
Since the age of fifteen, Andrew Carney has been playing trumpet and flugelhorn professionally. For over twenty five years Andrew has worked with such artists as Michael Jackson, Michael Bolton, Anita Baker, Dionne Warwick, Whitney Houston, Chaka Khan, Brenda Russell, the Clayton Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, and Randi Crawford. In addition, Andrew has recorded with such artists as Billy Mitchell, John Bolivar, Tommy Walker, Justo Almario, and Larry Carlton.

Reggie Carson – Bass
L.A. native, Reggie Carson, has worked with a Who’s Who list of musicians including Percy Sledge, Dr. John, Will Downing, Steve Tyrell, Max Roach, Cedar Walton, Freddie Hubbard, Roy Hargrove, James Moody, and Justo Almario. Reggie was also a member of the critically acclaimed B-Sharp Quartet. He currently tours with the jazz group Shapes.

Blake White – Guitar
Blake White is an extremely talented, self-taught guitarist. Having played for more than 20 years, he is quickly gaining notoriety amongst jazz-fans and local musicians for his extensive musical knowledge and vocabulary.

Grant Childers – Drums
Grant Childers, a native of Los Angeles and a versatile performer, has worked with a diverse group of musicians including the Shirelles, Joe Houston, and famed jazz artists Phil Wilson, Rich Matteson, Ashley Alexander, and Louie Bellson. His experience includes numerous recording sessions, tours, television broadcasts, and musical theater.

Nino Sanchez – Percussion
Nino Sanchez has played for Jessica Simpson, Destiny’s Child, Jamie Foxx, Macy Gray, Nick Lachey and Katharine Mc phee. Live television performances include The People’s Choice Awards, Video Music awards, Good Morning America, and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Special Guest Vocalist – Angela Alemania
Vocalist, Angela Alemania, has an amazing voice that is soulful, sultry, and sweet. She has been compared to Aretha Franklin, Linda Ronstadt, and Alecia Keys. Her vocals promise to be a highlight of the show and are sure to leave the audience wanting more.
