St Louis, MO June 30, 2007 — National PTA Convention — Punctuation Playtime announced it is getting high marks from educators. A live school-assembly program, Punctuation Playtime is now offered as a training DVD for elementary-school teachers and parents. The DVD features a variety of interactive learning games and activities to make learning punctuation fun for children in grades 1-6.Punctuation Playtime will be an exhibitor at the National PTA Convention at America's Center in St. Louis from June 28-30.
"Punctuation playtime completely supports our curriculum content," says Sally Feldman, a teacher at Washington Elementary School, Point Richmond, CA. "You have wrapped up the best in teaching to bring to our students."
Trudi Jensen, a teacher at Ellerhorst Elementary School, Pinole, CA, says, "I liked the introduction, practice and review. Good job. The children wanted to do more. They cheered for punctuation!"
"Punctuation with punch! Hit me again," exclaims Mrs. Peterson, of El Sobrante Elementary School, El Sobrante, CA. "The presenters kept moving and the students participated. What would make this program better would be to come to our school more often."
The Punctuation Playtime DVD was developed from live school assemblies facilitated by Jeff Rubin and his wife, Norma Martinez-Rubin. The DVD, created by Rubin — a 36-year veteran newspaper reporter, columnist, editor, and newsletter publisher — shows teachers how to present his proven punctuation learning techniques and fun activities. A companion CD includes activity kits for teachers and students, words and music for the "Punctuation Rap," and more.
The Punctuation Playtime DVD is an entry in Learning Magazine's 14th Annual Teachers' Choice Awards Contest, which recognizes excellence in classroom products. The winning products will be announced in September.
"Punctuation Playtime is an innovative program for teaching punctuation," says Rubin. "The video takes a subject that children might roll their eyes at and transforms it into an engaging and enjoyable learning experience. The kids love it, and so do the teachers."
Rubin is the founder of National Punctuation Day (September 24), which is recognized by Chase's Calendar of Events and featured in the McGraw-Hill publication, The Teacher's Calendar.
