Holonyx Inc. today announced the launch of version 1.8 of its software defect tracking system BUGS by its technology division Ruffdogs. “BUGS version 1.8 brings even more functionality to this industry-leading open-source software development environment”, said Holonyx President Garret Acott. New features in the 1.8 release include support for Microsoft Exchange servers for email notifications, email notifications for new messages, and an option to deactivate system comments.
BUGS is an open-source enterprise-level software defect tracking system. It enhances the development and support process by offering an advanced tool to manage bug reports, feature requests and user feedback for software development projects and products. BUGS includes configurable categories, severity levels and statuses and history tracking for every bug. BUGS supports multiple products and product editions so one system can be used for many products and sub-products.
The software’s exceptional features encompass a simple 3 to 4 click Bug Wizard, an integrated interface for Administrators and a support feature addressing multiple products, editions and milestones. BUGS is also a self-configurable enterprise application with a professional organized interface.
The purchase of BUGS includes a one year support contract with two phone incidents and five email incidents. BUGS is available from Holonyx at a price of $495.
Holonyx Ruffdogs division has long been involved in the open-source software community and is a contributor to major open-source projects, including SME Server, guilinux, and MyPHPNuke.
