SAN FRANCISCO, CA – June 2007 – CLIMBING and ROLLING ESTATE wine brands, pioneers in high altitude and cool climate Australian viticulture, are proud to present an improved package design for their wines. The new design continues to express a contemporary aesthetic and reflect the picturesque geography of this unique winegrowing region in Orange, New South Wales, Australia.

The fruit for the CLIMBING wines is sourced from vineyards amid the sloping hills located at 1,900 to 3,600 feet in the Orange region. The new label depicts a colorful, vintage hot air balloon that ascends to the skies above the climbing vineyards. The new label was created by Santa Rosa-based Bob Johnson, who is well known for his humorous wine related illustrations.

The ROLLING ESTATE label reflects the contiguous rolling vineyards of the Central Ranges located at 1,900 feet or less. The striking illustration celebrates the colorful vineyard’s red soils, which denote the volcanic land that lies at the base of nearby Mount Canobolas.

“These new labels illustrate the high elevation estate vineyards which we believe is one of the main factors that distinguishes these wines from other Australian brands,” states Ron Mertz, Managing Director of Cumulus Wines. Mertz continues, “The new labels have a much stronger shelf presence for both on and off premise markets and clearly tell our story.”

The CLIMBING and ROLLING ESTATE wines are made by winemaking legend Philip Shaw who has joined with wine industry veteran and company CEO Jeffrey Wilkinson to create these wines. The vineyards are located approximately 125 miles west of Sydney in the Orange and Central Ranges appellations. This region is the highest elevation grape-growing region in all of Australia and the unique combination of high altitude and ultraviolet light deliver wines with bright fruit, lower alcohol and superb balance.
