Want to have more meaning in your life? Crossroads Hospice of Philadelphia cordially invites everybody to become part of a very special program. Caring, dedicated individuals are needed to volunteer with Crossroads to help patients and families dealing with terminal illness. Come take part in the "Gift of the Day" program, create "Life Bridge" journals/videos, and provide companionship for patients facing life's most difficult journey. Crossroads Hospice of Philadelphia is a compassionate way of caring for the terminally ill and their families. Crossroads has a team of professionls, ranging from physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and volunteers, who help patients and families cope with one of the toughest transitions in life.
Volunteers play a crucial role in the delivery of hospice care. They allow hospice to provide services it otherwise could not offer, including forming close bonds with patients and families, opening lines of communication, and grieving with families when patients have died. Volunteers attend funerals, memorial services, and can provide bereavement visits under the guidance of hospice staff.
Because of the excellent care Crossroads strives to provide, they have created the "Gift of the Day" program to help patients fulfill a wish in their final days. Crossroads volunteers are instrumental in the preparation and participation of these "wishes".
