KTGY GROUP Wins Six Prestigious Design Awards

IRVINE, CALIF. - Award-winning KTGY GROUP, INC., Architecture and Planning, is pleased to announce that it has earned six prestigious awards including the highly coveted Gold Nugget Grand Award, Best of 50+ Housing Award, MAME and Laurel Awards for “Best Community.”College Vista, a 44-unit apartment community in San Mateo, Calif., received the Grand Award in the 2007 Gold Nugget Awards competition in the category of “Best Affordable Project - Under 30 DU/AC.” The developer was Thompson Dorfman Partners of Sausalito, Calif. The builder was Devcon Construction, Inc. of Milpitas, Calif. KTGY accepted the Grand Award for College Vista and six Merit Awards at a gala attended by more than 800 real estate industry professionals during the annual PCBC trade show and conference on May 31, 2007 in San Francisco, Calif.
KTGY was recognized among the best of the best in the 50+ and seniors housing industry by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) 50+ Housing Council. The 150-unit Dorado Senior Apartments in Buena Park, Calif. received a Silver Award in the category of “Overall Community, Affordable Rental Apartments,” at the 2007 Best of 50+ Housing Awards ceremony held May 31, 2007 in conjunction with Building for Boomers & Beyond: 50+ Housing Symposium in Denver, Colo. Simpson Housing Solutions LLC of Los Angeles, Calif. was the developer. Last year, Dorado Senior Apartments won the Gold Award in NAHB’s Best of Seniors Housing Awards competition in the “On The Boards – Affordable Rental Apartments” category.
The Building Industry Association’s (BIA) Sales and Marketing Council in the Inland Empire as well as in Northern California awarded four KTGY projects with their highly coveted Laurel Awards and MAME 33 Awards. The BIA Sales and Marketing Council award programs recognize all aspects of sales, marketing and merchandising in the new home industry.
With more than 1,000 industry professionals in attendance, the BIA’s Inland Empire Sales and Marketing Council held its 19th Annual black tie event, Laurel Awards dinner and awards presentation, “Simply the Best,” at the Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula on May 12, 2007. KTGY’s Main Street at Route 66 in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., a small gated community of 138 attached townhomes, received the Laurel Award for the “Community of the Year – Attached.” John Laing Homes of Newport Beach was the developer. Astoria in Fontana, Calif., a single-family community with homes featuring up to five bedrooms, won the Laurel Award in the category of “Detached From 2,201-2,799 S.F.” Young Homes of Rancho Cucamonga was the developer.
The North State BIA awarded KTGY two MAME Awards recognizing the “Best of the Best” at a dinner and awards presentation at the Sacramento Convention Center held on April 20, 2007. Candela at Westlake in Sacramento, Calif. received the MAME Award for the “Community of the Year – Average Sales Price $300,001-$400,000.” Hideaway at Treehouse in Folsom, Calif. received the MAME Award for the “Community of the Year – Average Sales Price $400,001-$500,000.” John Laing Homes was the developer of both projects. The North State BIA, which represents a 20-county area, is a professional trade organization, whose goal is to secure a more favorable economic environment for homebuilding.
