INTUITIVE TRACKING SAVES SCAFFOLDERS PHONE TIME

MIDLANDS-based scaffolding company Scaffold Services Limited have cut down on their phone bill by switching to a vehicle tracking system, from http://www.remoteassetmanagement.co.uk, to provide the all important answer to the question: “Where are my drivers?”

Operating a fleet of 6 vehicles from their Leicester based site, Scaffold Services Limited can now see – at the click of a button – where all of their drivers are, which is saving them hundreds of pounds each year in phone and administration costs.

“We would spend many hours a week chasing our drivers and asking them if they’d completed a drop, visited certain locations and, more often than not, where they were,” said Wayne Handford, Operations Manager at Scaffold Services Limited.

“We searched around the market for a tracking system as we knew that would provide us with the visibility that we needed and even trialled many systems, but found most to be difficult and awkward to use. The RAM system was different however, we found it to be incredibly simple yet highly effective for our purposes. Their representative was friendly and sincere and the system was incredibly intuitive.”

The RAM tracking system provides users with live GPRS access to the location – down to street level - of every vehicle within a fleet of any size; completely free of charge. The live reporting facility gives a visual overview of where vehicles are at any time.

“We had to trust the drivers word that they were at a location, but now we can see them on a map within a matter of seconds. However, the archived files provide – in my opinion, the clearest legal protection that any fleet operation could need. We can easily back track through the files to verify a particular situation, which could be anything from confirming a customer drop-off, arguing a speeding ticket or in the case of an accident.

“It also helps us to keep track of our supplies, as the drivers can accidentally forget to record a drop. We now don’t need to rely on a paper-based solution,” concluded Handford.

When companies install a vehicle tracking system from RAM, the system can instantly highlight areas where there is a lack of efficiency.

The system from remoteassetmanagement.co.uk is used by companies of all sizes and has reportedly saved UK industry many millions since it began trading three years ago.
