Page Lambert leads writing workshops at The Taos Writing Salon A cross disciplinary writing adventure for writers of all skills

Santa Fe, NM— June 2007 – Page Lambert, author and leader of the popular River Writing Journeys for Women as seen in Oprah’s O magazine, will be teaching at this year’s internationally-acclaimed Taos Writing Salon.

The Writing Salon “Writing from the Imaginative Storm” takes place July 22-27, 2007 at the St. Geronimo Lodge in Taos, New Mexico. The Salon is a six-day experience for writers allowing them to explore various art forms including development of character, perspectives, screenwriting, telling your own story, how to present your work and the potential of images.

Lambert, who leads River Writing Journeys for Women around the West, is the author of the best-selling memoir In Search of Kinship. “Richard Louv, author of Last Child in the Woods, said, “In Search of Kinship is a book of wisdom. It reveals the intricate and powerful influence of land on human character, and suggests the importance of finding, and protecting, one’s true and special place.” She is also the author of the novel Shifting Stars, a finalist for the Mountains and Plains Bookseller’s Award. Recipient of two literary fellowships, Lambert’s work is featured in 20 different literary anthologies including the 2007 releases Home Land and Open Range.

Other distinguished faculty include: poet James Navé, screenwriter Allegra Huston (daughter of famed director John Huston), author Gladys Swan, poet Leslie Ullman, and artist and filmmaker Paul Pascarella. Navé is the co-director with Allegra Huston of The Writing Salon.

Lambert will be leading sessions on “Exploring Perspective,” which evolved from her time spent alone in a remote cabin in Wyoming’s Big Horn Mountains – with no running water, electricity, computer, phone or fax.

“We’ll be exploring different points of view, the nature of experience, and the experience of nature,” Lambert said. “We’ll also look at the shape of a story and how energy moves within a story. We’ll enter our own work from a new perspective and discover its hidden nature.”

The salon fee is $995, or $895 if paid by June 30. The fee includes tuition, lunch and dinner each day.
