Dust-Off® Partners With World Cyber Games

Branchburg, NJ (June 20, 2007) – Falcon Safety Products®, manufacturer of the Dust-Off® brand of consumer electronics cleaning products, is proud to announce that it will once again be teaming up with the World Cyber Games (WCG). Building upon the success of its sponsorship of the 2006 WCG US Finals, this year Falcon has elevated its involvement to the global level and joins other leading manufacturers such as Samsung Digital Camera, SyncMaster, Philips and CE retailer Circuit City, as an official partner of the WCG. Furthermore, as a result of the new partnership, Dust-Off has been named the official PC and console cleaning product of the WCG for the next two years.

Dust-Off, one of the world’s most recognized brands when it comes to consumer electronics care and maintenance, comprises an array of products, including compressed gas dusters, assorted cleaning wipes and a line of micro-fiber cloths that include the Screen Shammy™ and the LapPad™. Together, the Dust-Off products supply gamers with a well-rounded system to keep their expensive PCs clean and running at their highest level of performance. Understanding that dirty, ill-kept machines can be a gamer’s worst nightmare, Dust-Off recommends precautionary measures such as blasting dust from cooling vents and keyboards, to prevent spontaneous short circuits, overheating, premature decay and overall breakdown.

“Loyal brands, such as Dust-Off, are the keys to the success of the long term goals of the WCG,” said WS Oh, EVP of ICM, the global organizer of the WCG. “We appreciate their increased global involvement in the WCG this year and look forward to having them on board for years to come.”

With well over one million players from more than 70 countries, the World Cyber Games is widely regarded as the gaming world’s premier e-Sports tournament and cultural festival. Featuring online and offline events held throughout the world, the year-long series attracted more than 1.3 million competitors world-wide in 2006. The 2006 WCG Grand Final in Monza, Italy broke new ground as more than 24 million people tuned in to watch the competition unfold in real-time, marking the first-ever global, live satellite broadcast of an e-Sports event.

This year, the WCG USA online preliminaries began on April 2nd and will run through July 29th. The worldwide competition will ultimately conclude with the International Grand Final to be held October 3rd – 7th in Seattle, Washington. In 2006, millions of dollars in cash and prizes were distributed throughout the WCG qualifiers, national finals and Grand Final.

“As the WCG continues to grow, so too does the popularity of e-sports,” said Ken Newman, Director of Marketing for Falcon Safety Products. “Over the past several years, we’ve seen the world of gaming evolve from small, grassroots competitions, to global tournaments, such as the WCG, that foster a sense of camaraderie and unite gamers worldwide under one banner. As a manufacturer, we couldn’t be more proud of our partnership and are honored to be associated with the WCG.”

The WCG slogan, “Beyond the Game,” expresses that the purpose of the WCG is not only to create a world-game tournament, but to promote mutual respect and harmony among the cross-cultural participants. WCG’s Grand Final tournament fosters the concept of a “Digital Cultural Festival.”

“We are very excited to have Dust-Off as an Official WCG Partner again this year. Their ongoing support of the WCG USA and now Pan European programs further solidifies their brand as a core staple in the gaming community,” said Michael Arzt, GM of ICM USA.

The roster of official games for the WCG 2007 season consist of eight PC games and four console games including: StarCraft®: Brood WarTM (PC); Warcraft®: Frozen Throne (PC); Half-Life®: Counter-Strike 1.6 (PC); FIFA Soccer 07 TM (PC); Need for Speed Carbon TM (PC); Command & Conquer® 3 Tiberium Wars (PC); Age of Empires III®: The WarChiefs (PC); Carom3D (PC); Dead or Alive® 4 (Xbox 360); Gears of War® (Xbox 360); Tony Hawk’s® Project 8 (Xbox 360) and Project Gotham Racing® 3 (Xbox 360).
