Microscopist Recognized by University

ATLANTA - MVA Scientific Consultants is proud to congratulate staff member Whitney B. Hill for her recognition as the 2004 Sigma Gamma Epsilon Teaching Assistant of the Year by the Department of Geology, at Georgia State University.

The Sigma Gamma Epsilon Teaching Assistant of the Year Award, which was officially presented last month, is awarded annually by the Epsilon Rho Chapter of the Society of Sigma Gamma Epsilon (The National Honor Society for the Earth Sciences) in recognition of outstanding performance in introductory laboratory teaching.

A graduate of Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, Hill has an M.S. in Geology after completing the Geology Graduate Program at Georgia State University (GSU). During her time at GSU, she served as a Teaching Assistant in the university’s geology department where she taught 2-3 classes a semester for 5 semesters (2002-2004).

Currently, Hill is a Research Scientist at MVA Scientific Consultants, where she is responsible for preparing and analyzing samples using Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM).
