North Mississippi Health Services Selects RASMAS for Automated Product Recall Management
June 18, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Health News
North Mississippi Health Services has entered a contract with Noblis to use its web-based Risk And Safety Management Alert System (RASMAS) service.RASMAS is a comprehensive service that notifies hospitals about recalls and safety notices for healthcare products that may be harmful to their patients, employees, and hospital visitors. Its workflow tools help staff track, manage, and record all actions taken in dealing with the medical recalls and alerts in their facilities.
Subscribers report that using RASMAS reduces alert processing time by 80% and dramatically decreases the number of days from notification to removal of products from use. Such time-saving efforts ensure that patients in facilities continue to receive the highest quality of healthcare delivery possible.
"Implementing an automated process for managing medical recalls and safety notices has numerous benefits for our hospitals," states Mac Stanford, Director of Biomedical Engineering for North Mississippi Health Services. "Receiving electronic alerts from RASMAS on a real-time basis in a standardized format will take an immediate burden off of our hospital staff and represents a giant step forward for patient safety."
