North Carolina Education Ball to Be Held At Progress Energy Center for Performing Arts on June 16

(Raleigh, NC) June 2007 – State business, community, political and education leaders will once again gather for the NC Education Ball at the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts to support the work of Communities In Schools of North Carolina (CISNC) on Saturday, June 16.

This year’s NC Education Ball will highlight local Broadway legends, Terence Mann and George Merritt, in addition to highlighting youth whom one day hope to follow in their footsteps.

In addition to local business and community leaders, US Senator Richard Burr and US Congressman Bob Etheridge will also be in attendance.

The winners of this year’s H. Glenn Williams Power of One Awards will be invited on stage to receive their awards and Mr. Graeme Keith will be on hand to present a CIS student with the Student Leadership Award given in his name.

GlaxoSmithKline will be the Presenting Sponsor for this year’s Education Ball entitled, An International Affair. Other main sponsors include RBC Centura as the Invest In Success Sponsor, Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina as the Celebrate Leaders Sponsor, ABC11 WTVD as the Media Sponsor, and Progress Energy will serve as this year’s H. Glenn Williams Power of One Awards Sponsor. This year’s Graeme M. Keith Student Leadership Award Sponsor is Wal-Mart.

Proceeds from the North Carolina Education Ball will support Communities In Schools of North Carolina. Communities In Schools is the largest dropout prevention network in the country.
