Caravans Move Forward As They Celebrate Their Centenary

One hundred years after the Caravan Club was founded, the caravan holiday industry is exploding, says leading caravan insurer Cover4Caravans.

The Caravan Club celebrates its centenary on Thursday and now boasts nearly one million members, including many celebrities such as Kate Moss and Jamie Oliver. Caravanning holidays are reclaiming their glory days. From being perceived as very uncool during the advent of cheap flights, people are once again recognising caravanning as a fantastic way to enjoy the countryside.

Britain’s caravanning boom has been fairly low key since Britain became Europe’s largest caravan-buying nation back in 2003. However, the recent celebrity endorsement of the caravan holiday lifestyle, coupled with the centenary, has pushed caravanning into the spotlight.
