Latest RasterMaster Imaging SDK Features XML Annotation and Expanded MS Office & PDF Support

Watertown, MA (June 13, 2007) - Snowbound Software, a leading provider of powerful, flexible, and reliable imaging technology, today announced the availability of new versions of its RasterMaster Imaging SDK, including Version 16 for Microsoft Windows (DLL, ActiveX, and .NET) and Version 11 for the Java Platform. The RasterMaster SDK and Library provides automated document imaging functions that decrease application development time while providing expert functionality and features including: document conversion, annotation, and manipulation. Through the user-friendly API, developers can easily build their applications with robust imaging capabilities. Notable enhancements for these releases include XML annotation capability and expanded support for PDF and Microsoft Office formats.

The XML annotation feature provides a portable data layer enabling annotations to be overlaid onto documents, burned into a document, or distributed outside of the document. By creating annotations in an XML format, that data can be used by back-end systems or end-users to index, search and be externally edited.

The latest PDF enhancements allow companies to build more capabilities directly into their applications to facilitate compliance, security and end-user productivity including:

* Ability to display text, FreeText, Ink, and Stamp annotations
* Ability to display AcroForm data entered into compatible PDF documents
* Faster decompression times enabling rapid retrieval and viewing of large, multi-page PDFs

RasterMaster's MS Office enhancements further expand Snowbound's functionality across the suite, enabling companies to build applications that seamlessly support MS Office documents including:

* Word - Support for varying page sizes, landscape view, color text, text boxes, objects, and updated Unicode characters - specifically for Far East character sets
* Excel - Support for embedded images and color background and text in Excel documents
* Outlook - Support for displaying plain text in the MSG email file format
* PowerPoint - Text extraction allows population of custom database fields
