Drama Queen Style has been seen in print and television, covering the spectrum from soap divas to the everyday women. Now it’s on to the Red Carpet where the glamorous couture designs of Drama Queen Style will make its debut on May 20, 2005 at the 32nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards under the label “House of Drama”. • Beth Chamberlin on CBS’s soap drama “Guiding Light” will be wearing their “Trinity Goddess” gown which was especially designed for her. Danielle Orsino, the designer at House of Drama, said of the gown, “It blends old Hollywood glamour with inspiration from Beth’s wonderful personality. She is very beautiful and full of life, and I think the design gives off that type of feeling.” The dress has a mix of textures that come together for a modern elegant look. The coral silk/satin fabric was hand dyed and then given a metallic sheen. Coupled with the corset detail and hard edges of the gown (accented with soft black leather), this combination gives the gown a look fit for a queen.
• Adrianne Leon (Brook Lynn on General Hospital) is one of this years Daytime Emmy Nominees for best younger actress and also has a gown especially designed for her by “House of Drama.” Danielle Orsino of House of Drama noted that Adrianne’s gown was a bit more whimsical. “We took into consideration Adrianne’s age and felt that she could experiment with her style and get away with things that most women can’t.” The silk georgette gown is light pink and black with a hand made swavorski appliqué giving the ethereal feel a sophisticated touch of glamour. The flow of the gown from the short front into the full length back with a train gives a look all its own.
It is not just in front of the camera that people are noticing Drama Queen Style… One of the producers of the Emmys, Astra Austin, will also be wearing a gown from Drama Queen Style on the big night.
This Event jumpstarts exposure on a new level for Drama Queen Style and their “House of Drama” couture label with two formal ensembles on the red carpet at the Daytime Emmys. “It is very rare,” said one fashion insider, “to see a nominee and a high profile soap actress go ahead with a smaller design house on their big night.” The source went on to say “Drama Queen Style’s soap-inspired line caught the attention of the soap crowd and they’re now going to be taking it to the next level with the couture label. Debuting it on the red carpet is a drama queen move if I ever saw one. I’m sure it won’t belong before the Hollywood crowd wants to be a drama queen, too!”
• What’s Next - The future is bright for Drama Queen Style with upcoming editorial spreads in Soaps in Depth and a fashion show on the Emmy nominated talk show “Soap Talk” set to air May 31, 2005. They’ll also be seen in a fashion show June 2, 2005 at the New York’s hot spot 17. There is no telling when Drama Queen Style will slow down.
