June 10, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
NEWTOWN, CT/June 2007 — TÜVRheinland®, the world leader in independent testing and certification services, is now accepting test applications for wireless devices utilizing the new IEEE 802.11n standard for Wi-Fi. Currently, the Wi-Fi Alliance is finalizing the Wi-Fi 802.11n , draft 2.0 certification test plan, scheduled to launch on June 25. Compliance to the test plan ensures a product’s interoperability with other Wi-Fi devices in the consumer and enterprise markets.

“We expect a rapid market acceptance of wireless products running 802.11n because of their ability to stream video between devices,” said David Surber, Vice President of Engineering for TÜVRheinland. “We are proud to be one of the first labs authorized by the Wi-Fi Alliance to perform 802.11n testing, enabling our clients worldwide to meet that market demand.”

TÜVRheinland is one of only four companies in the world with testing laboratories authorized by the Wi-Fi Alliance for this program. The company’s facilities in Silicon Valley and Yokohama, Japan are pre-qualified to perform testing for the more than 300 members of the Wi-Fi Alliance (www.wifi.org), a global industry association that promotes the growth of Wi-Fi devices.

TÜVRheinland’s one-stop testing facilities can test all types of wireless devices including laptops, wireless routers and switches, PDAs, VoIP telephones, printers, computers, game stations and computer accessories.
