Army Reserve's Desert Warrior II Exercise Begins.

The United States Army Reserve has commenced Desert Warrior II, the only U.S exercise capable of training all the functionalities and capabilities of the U.S. land components on this scale, in one location, June 1 - 11, 2007 at Fort Bliss, Texas. The Desert Warrior exercise is designed to provide the best training event possible for a Reserve command exercise – and, possibly better than many Active command exercises given the full-spectrum and full unit combat support and combat service support capabilities available to the maneuver units and the controlling field headquarters. The 90th Regional Readiness Command (RRC) in Little Rock, Ark., will serve as the controlling field headquarters.

Participating units include representing the states of Arkansas, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas. Along with representing their respective states from the National Guard, there are also Army Reserve units from the 81st, 89th and 90th RRCs, and the First U.S. Army from the active component. Completing the list of participants will be units from the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Marine Corps

Media interaction is planned and encouraged to prepare interested media for future embed opportunities, to demonstrate credentialing and escort procedures and to cover military training.
