FundingUniverse Closes Open Investor Registration

FundingUniverse announced the end of the open investor registration on the company’s website.

To maintain an elite group of accredited investors, the FundingUniverse executive team decided to close the investor sign-up process to only investors who have been referred by other investors who already use the FundingUniverse site to locate high quality deal flow. According to Brock Blake, FundingUniverse CEO, this shift in the investor registration process will only help their entrepreneur and investor members.

“The investors will become part of an elite group,” Blake explains. “Only those investors who are well respected in the investment community will have access to the deals on FundingUniverse. This in turn will help entrepreneurs because only serious investors who are willing to make investments will have access to their plans.”

Blake emphasized the screening process to insure investors are accredited will continue even if the investor is referred to the site.

“We still want to ensure the investors who use the site are accredited investors according to the Securities and Exchange Commission guidelines,” Blake says. “In addition, talking directly to each of the investors allows us to take note of their specific investment preferences. FundingUniverse will then send the investor deals that meet those preferences.”
