It is manufactured under the specifications of ASTM-B188-02. This bus tube has countless applications in electrical power transmission. The alloy of this copper bus tube is C102000, this particular alloy is also known as “oxygen free”. During the annealing process, nitrogen floods the annealing chamber, effectively eliminating oxygen from the molecular composition of the metal. This process enhances the current carrying capability of the copper by reducing electrical resistance. This also results in less heat being generated when carrying an electrical load. For this reason, copper bus tubing is also referred to as “OFHC” or Oxygen Free High Conductivity copper tubing.
