Oprah and Bono Inspire NYC Daycare To Go Red

All of the teachers and management at Smarter Toddler a nursery and preschool in New York City wore matching “Inspired” Tee Shirts from the Gap’s Red Campaign collection. 50% of the profits from sales of the Tee shirts go to the Global Fund to help eliminate AIDS in Africa.

“Just the tee shirts that the Smarter Toddler teachers are wearing will provide enough medication to prevent transmission of HIV from mother to child for over 50 pregnant women,” said Jessica Collins, spokesperson for the preschool, “Smarter Toddler’s director happened to see Bono talking about the Red Campaign on Oprah’s show and was inspired to get involved. So she went out and immediately bought the popular ‘Inspired’ Tee shirt for every teacher at Smarter Toddler. As a result of the teachers at Smarter Toddler wearing the tee shirts parents of their students decided to go out and buy Red Products which will lead to even more pregnant women receiving the life-saving retro-viral medicine”.

The campaign is important to Smarter Toddler because many of the young students that are enrolled at the center were enrolled while their mothers were still pregnant with them. The fact the teachers at Smarter toddler can support pregnant women they have never met in another country is a great honor for them.
