HOBOKEN, N.J. – At age 12 Sheri was a child prodigy training with Impasto master Ted Fogel in the academic style of the Renaissance Artists. Sheri was inspired by, and painted, replicas of the classical works. At a N.Y. painting seminar with The Finishing School, she learned to translate the oil technique of the old masters into acrylic. This summer she returns to Italy and studies again with the masters, Pascal Amblard, Sean Crosby, Pierre Finkelstein and Nicola Vigini.
The excitement and speed of Sheri's craft was in the spotlight at the N.Y. Javits Center in March where she was singled out by ARTV's Audrey Roberts who invited her to join a select group of artists for a national competition.
The 2005 ARTV Awards (http://www.ArtVawards.com), founded by Audrey Roberts, will be the first ever, multi-media, Academy Award-style, red-carpet awards for artist.
“We are on the cutting edge of a cultural revolution,” says Roberts, who created art television – ARTV. The awards will be presented in 15 categories on Oct 28 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. It will be filmed and produced in HDTV for national television. Sheri's 2005 ARTV Award nomination is for her Fine Art Murals.
Audrey Roberts was described by Bobbie Katz as, "A Las Vegas Renaissance woman who is bringing art to collectors and collectors to the arts through a company that plans to bring it all to television."
"Fine artists have always been overlooked," says Roberts, "and while there are new, emerging art stars in America, there are awards for everything but art."
Sheri is thrilled to be part of Audrey's artistic revolution. It suits her passion for sharing her art. She has an enthusiasm and joy for her work that is contagious. She pours her heart and soul into her creations, and says, “I’m a painter of emotions.”
Because Sheri’s talents extend to Seven Fine Arts, she has named her company 7 Fine Arts. Samples of her work are dramatically displayed on a beautiful web site at http://www.7FineArts.com. Her work includes portraits, fine art, classic murals, children’s murals, hand-painted wallpaper, marbleizing, and interior consultation.
Sheri is submitting a portrait called "Angels" to the Smithsonian's Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition 2006. She was a guest on Fox TV’s “Good Day New York,” her work was seen in the Decorative Artists Magazine, and North Light Publishing commissioned a future book on her techniques for children's murals. Sheri is a member of the Art Renewal Center. Sheri will be a special guest speaker on a cruise with Royal Caribbean Lines later this year.
