MARRIAGE 101 AUTHOR LAUNCHES NEW WEBSITE TO HELP COUPLES

Jewell Powell, marriage coach and author of Marriage 101 and the Marriage 101 Workbook, has launched a new website, www.marriage101.us, for brides and wives. It allows brides to understand and prepare themselves for marriage and for wives to get the information they need to have successful marriages.

The website has many features: an “Ask Jewell” link, which provides an open forum to discuss and share real issues; the Marriage 101 Newsletter; articles; video blogging; marriage resource links; and lists of upcoming marriage events, just to name a few.

When asked which is the best feature of the site, Jewell states, “Honor the Promise—I am looking for one million couples to participate in this grassroots effort. My mission, the C4 Mission, is to change the course of our country, one couple at a time. All who sign up by June 16, 2007, will be entered into a drawing for a weekend getaway (hotel accommodations and breakfast only). The winner will be announced on the website www.marriage101.us on June 19th.”

The issues that marriages and families are facing—financial stress, job stress, communication breakdown, lack of couple and family time, intimacy issues, infidelity, and more—are destroying marriages and families daily. These issues are universal. Yet, we do not have many forums to openly discuss these issues and provide real solutions to solve these problems and save our families. Many couples and families attend weekly church services and still leave hurting because they don’t have the practical tools necessary to restore their broken relationships and homes. They are embarrassed and afraid to ask for help. This leaves couples unhappy, unfulfilled, and without hope.

“I know—I was one of them,” Powell states, “When Lewis and I separated, I was determined that our marriage was over. I thought there was no hope for saving my marriage. I was tired of fighting for the relationship, tired of him not spending time with me, and tired of not seeing him change. Year by year, I kept getting frustrated because he wasn’t changing—but the reality is, I wasn’t either.”

Now, Jewell has turned her marriage around, and using biblical principles, she is determined to help other couples do the same. The Marriage 101 website provides hope.

The website (www.marriage101.us) has features that allow visitors to speak on the issues and challenges concerning their marriages and let them know they are not alone. “We all can relate. Although we have different challenges, most issues (adultery, in-laws, communication, sex) are the same,” said Powell. “This is a way to provide H.O.P.E. (Helping Others through our Personal Experiences).”
