XARC Mastering Proud To Reveal That Several Of Its Clients’ Tracks Have Received Recent International Acclaim

May 15, 2005 (PRLEAP.COM) Entertainment News
XARC Mastering, the world leader in on-line mastering, is proud to announce that several tracks, each truly representative of the diversity of the XARC's mastering work, have recently garnered wide attention in the international music community. Although this latest news is focused in two otherwise very distinct locations – namely, Estonia and Manhattan – it is nonetheless connected together by a common thread: XARC Mastering.

The first segment of this very exciting news was the recent announcement that an Estonian Pop/Rock band, Suntribe, will be representing their nation in this year's Eurovision song contest, with their XARC-mastered track, 'Let's Get Loud.' Eurovision, the preeminent mainstream musical competition in Europe, is now in its forty-ninth year; official opening of this year's contest is planned for May 16th in Kiev's Sports Palace (Palats Sportu).

'Let's Get Loud' received the greatest number of telephone votes in the 'Eurolaul 2005' competition in February, placing first among eight other songs vying to be performed on behalf of Estonia at this year's Eurovision. The 'Lets Get Loud' mix prepared for contest submission was mastered by XARC in March. XARC also recently mastered the #2-ranked track in the Eurolaul competition, entitled 'Moonwalk.'

Commenting on Suntribe's achievement, XARC Mastering's Managing Director & Chief Mastering Engineer, Lorenz Vauck, states "I'm very pleased to have been able to work with Suntribe, mastering a track that is so important for them. It's always a wonderful experience to be able to contribute, in some small way, to the success of so many different musicians."

On an equally exciting note, March also brought the news that Manhattan-based composer, Jesper Kyd, received the best "Original Music" award at the 2005 British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Games Awards, for his "Hitman Contracts" video game soundtrack. The fourth track on this compilation, entitled "Slaughter Club" was mastered by XARC in 2004.

Kyd's BAFTA award truly honours his work, heralding it as the best original music score within an interactive video game in this year's competition. Selection criteria is intended to encourage excellence in composition, production and music-game integration.

Of additional note is that "Slaughter Club" represents the second time XARC-mastered tracks have been nominated for a BAFTA award. Last year, it was the James Hannigan-composed and XARC-mastered game soundtrack for "Republic: The Revolution" that was in the running for high honours at BAFTA.

Speaking on Kyd's achievement, Lorenz Vauck states: "I'm very pleased about this news, on a number of levels. First, it's a wonderful experience to be able to work each day with such an extensive array of artists, from all around the world, who produce music from such a huge variety of musical genres and purposes. It's also very nice to see such awards go to such high-quality compositions – XARC's congratulations are certainly in order, to Jesper, as a result of him receiving this award from BAFTA."

"I think it's important to comment too, that game music is particularly interesting to work with," continues Vauck. "When it is well composed, it adds that much-needed 'final touch' to the totally immersive, convincing, and realistic experience in such high demand in today's video games. It's certainly one area where solid, high-quality mastering is of extreme importance — and that's precisely where XARC so consistently delivers."
