Free Sailing Event Returns to Boston Harbor

May 29, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Lifestyle News
Boston, MA — Due to the intense interest among first-time sailors generated by its season-opening celebration in late April, the Boston Sailing Center will again offer free sailboat rides on Boston Harbor during a second public open house reception on Saturday, June 23, 2007 from 1pm to 6pm.

Sailing neophytes of all ages - as well as seasoned skippers - are invited to join the festivities. 'Round-the-harbor sailboat trips will be conducted by experienced skippers aboard boats ranging in length from 23 to 40 feet. Complimentary refreshments will be available.

The Center's teaching staff will also be on hand to answer questions about sailing basics, and about the history of Boston Harbor as a focal point of maritime activity in New England.

Now celebrating its 31st anniversary season, the Boston Sailing Center is headquartered in a converted Louisiana riverboat that is permanently docked at Lewis Wharf. The Center’s floating classrooms and boat moorings are a five-minute walk north of Faneuil Hall Marketplace along Atlantic Avenue.

For more information about the event, contact the Center at (617) 227-4198 or visit the Center’s web site at www.bostonsailingcenter.com.
