Midtown Manhattan's Diamond Vision Center engages architectural interior design firm Kurland Design Group, formerly of Kurland Passaretti Group to create their flagship facility. Diamond Vision, is a New York physician's group practice which has been providing LASIK and laser vision correction for over 10 years. NYC based, Kurland Design Group (http://www.KurlandDesignGroup.com) , is a multi-faceted design team with over 30 years of professional experience."We are very pleased to give our patients the luxury of space", said Steven Stetson, MD, Medical Director of Diamond Vision. Kurland's design doubles this facility on the 9th floor of 15 West 44th Street, (between 5th & 6th avenues).
Unique features include decorative hanging screens that divide rest areas with a roomy open feel, and a pre-op room that separates the laser room with glass so that patients may view how safe and un-stressful the procedure actually is.
Treatment rooms are temperature, humidity and light controlled. For soft reflected light and a feeling of elegance, Kurland Group hung Swarovski Chandeliers throughout the space.
"Diamond Vision told us that they did not want the office to have a typical clinical feel. Our goal was to create an intimate, patient-friendly environment that was inviting, calm and reassuring" said Scott Kurland. Mr. Kurland and his team worked with the vision center from pre-lease through design and oversight of the architectural interior installation.
Diamond vision center has offices in Manhattan, Paramus New Jersey, Garden City Long Island, Westport Connecticut, & Hartford, Greenwich, and New Hartford CT. They are an official New York LASIK training site and were the first in NY, NJ and CT to offer CustomVue Intralase "bladeless" LASIK and to teach it to other doctors.
Mr. Kurland is recognized for his special design talents in numerous design awards, such as the Hexter Award for the Interior of the Year, the Award of Excellence by the Broadcast Design Association, and the Emmy Award. In addition, under the design direction of Mr. Kurland, many of the firm's projects have appeared as cover stories and feature articles in professional publications, including Interior Design, Interiors, Professional Office Design, Real Estate Forum, and Crain's NY Business.
