Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Biloxi and Emerald Coast Still Rockin’ After Hurricane Katrina
May 24, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology News
Alpharetta, Georgia – Hard Rock had fallen on some hard times in 2005. The Biloxi, Mississippi casino was originally slated to open just two days after Hurricane Katrina made landfall, destroying the casino and causing major damage to its hotel. It appeared that all of the hardwork of construction companies, vendors, and many other involved parties had been wiped away all too quickly. One vendor in particular, Emerald Coast Software, was also based in Biloxi, Mississippi and had an agreement with Hard Rock Biloxi to provide the software and hardware technology to capture and store all casino cage and administrative documents. “It was quite a shock for us all,” says Chuck Ros, President of Emerald Coast Software. “We are just glad to see Hard Rock among many of the other businesses and people in the area being able to get things back to normal.”
Two years later, Hard Rock Biloxi has picked up the pieces and is close to completion of the rebuilding process. Emerald Coast will still be there providing the technology to capture all casino cage and administrative documents. These documents will then be stored to archive media meeting strict gaming regulation requirements.
“We are pleased to be working with Emerald Coast again on this project. They understood the situation we were all in right after the storm and have continued to offer the support needed during our rebuilding process,” said John Murphy, Vice President of Information Systems for Hard Rock Biloxi.
With this technology, Hard Rock Biloxi can rest assured that no matter what Mother Nature throws that way, the company’s documents will be safely captured and stored away. The new opening date for the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Biloxi is set for July 7, 2007.
