Team From Houston Knits Large Sweater for a Volkswagen Bug

Houston - Texas, May 13, 2005 - Roughly 7 miles of Lion Brand Yarn was used to knit a cozy/sweater for a Volkswagen Beetle. The team of knitters from the Houston Center For Contemporary Art was lead by Frances Trotter the resident fiber artist at the center. The knitting project started in early April of 2005 and is scheduled to be completed in time for the annual "Art Car Weekend" and "Art Car Parade", which runs from May 13-15, 2005 in Houston Texas."I'm fairly certain that this is the first time Lion Brand yarn has been used to make a cozy for a car." said Ilana Rabinowitz director of consumer marketing for Lion Brand Yarn "This car is going to be a real crowd pleaser at the Houston Art Car Parade."
